Behavioral Health Services

Rehabilitative and Community Service (RCS) is designed to meet the needs of children and young adults (birth to age 21) living with cognitive impairments and functional limitations. The program focuses on behavioral management, social skills development, reaching daily living goals and full community integration.

Services are provided at home or in the community by Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) who promote client and family self-determination by working toward identified goals. By building on family strengths, natural supports, and available community resources, the services we provide are intended to empower families to work toward self- sufficiency while decreasing unsafe behaviors.

Specific Criteria for Eligibility under MaineCare:

• Eligible clients have cognitive impairments and functional limitations and have been diagnosed with having Autism Spectrum Disorder, and Intellectual Disability, or a Developmental Delay.

• Eligible children and youth must be willing and able to participate in and make the commitment to make progress toward their individual goals for improved functional life skills training.

• (For MaineCare/Medicaid Beneficiaries) Section 28 is for children; family participation is required for their children birth to age 21 years to the greatest extent possible (considering the individual’s needs as well as family circumstances).

--> If you have private insurance that can cover this service, great! If not, and you are paying out of pocket, then the above eligibility requirements do not apply. If you need this service for your child and are not able to pay the full amount, reach out and we'll make something work.

Please reach out to us today if you think we may be able to help your child reach their potential and integrate into the community in a more satisfying way. We are here to help.
